Imagine (if you will) the real-horror abstractions of Xiu Xiu and the classico darkness of 80s industrial straight-to-tape id explorations all fed in hunks and chunks into and through the computer. Crisp noughties digitalness isn’t the classic medium for unsettling, gothic noisejourneyings but the warbled tape and ominous analog synth can be left behind with all the boring boys of the 20th century.
Instead L’amour delivers on a constant ricochet through form and palette from harsh noise, to goth-band-practicing-in-the-next-room beauty to pure Minton-esque vocal improv and back again all in service to channeling specific and impossible-to-name emotional states and shifts for you the listener!
